Cooper Crouse-Hinds is an Equal Opportunity Employer - m/f/d/v SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position reports to the Director of Engineering & Quality Assurance for the total quality assurance system and the facility’s continuous improvement operations including the implementation of a total quality assurance system, ISO-9001 certification and related quality and continuous improvement systems and operations
The position also has the responsibility to ensure that applicable CIS (Cooper Interconnect Salem) products are produced in accordance with appropriate customer specifications
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Sustain and improve a total quality assurance system in accordance with industry standards, ISO 9000 requirements and customer specifications
Provide technical training and support to quality employees as necessary or directed
Maintain and improve a system to collect and analyze quality data, identify problem areas, recommend solutions and coordinate/facilitate corrective action to control costs and achieve established quality objectives
Monitor and coordinate quality assurance functions including inspection, testing, and repair and auditing and maintain required quality records and documentation to verify that all quality and manufacturing systems and processes meet or exceed industry standards and/or customer specifications
Plan, facilitate and implement continuous improvement operations utilizing “lean manufacturing principles” and/or “Good Manufacturing Principles” (GMP) including but not limited to Kaizen events, Six Sigma and related tools and resources
Facilitate and monitor the ISO registration and certification process in accordance with industry and division standards
Work with site inspector to coordinate the quality requirements of government related business
Maintain as system to evaluate and ensure that vendors and suppliers meet or exceed established quality policies, procedures and expectations
Interact with all internal departments as well as customers and vendors to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely, cost effective and productive manner
Identify, specify and recommend equipment and software to most efficiently measure and monitor the quality assurance system and processes
Plan, schedule, and monitor quality activities to ensure effective utilization of personnel, equipment and materials within budget requirements
Review and investigate customer requests for Return Material Authorizations (RMA)
Provide Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventative Action reports consistent with customer requests
Special projects as assigned by supervisor or dictated by organizational focus
Skill Knowledgebase: ISO 9000 Total Quality Assurance Systems Lean Manufacturing Principles and Practices Six Sigma Kaizen Activities NATURE AND SCOPE: This position reports to the Director of Engineering & Quality Assurance and is responsible for assisting with overall ISO 9000 quality compliance
The incumbent must also produce these products in accordance with appropriate customer specifications
The incumbent must maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of ISO 9000-2008 standards, techniques and conditions of use, competitive products, manufacturing methods and processes, prevailing codes and standards, and related technology
The incumbent will, while working within the Engineering Group, assume some of the responsibility for custom products and the modification or upgrading of existing products into new product offerings
The incumbent is expected to keep orderly records and projections for all projects
The position will champion innovative quality initiatives needed to create and sustain a culture of world class quality performance standards
Job Requirements : EXPEREINCE AND TRAINING: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering with demonstrated knowledge and previous work experience with the continuous improvement programs listed below: · ISO9001:2008 · Total Quality Management (TQM) · Statistical Process Control (SPC) · Vendor Evaluation and Scoring · Lean Manufacturing This position requires exemplary leadership and communication skills to effectively lead, mentor and facilitate
Skills and knowledge to meet minimum qualifications requires strong knowledge of MS Office, process orientation, analytical and planning ability along with thorough knowledge of engineered work measurement systems
Incumbent must be computer literate with competent oral and written communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain constructive interpersonal relationships and function within a progressive team environment is required
