  • During the Spring 2010 rotation, the student should learn the business objectives of the Siemens Energy Inc
  • HVS group, and how the student is expected to support those objectives
  • The student will be expected to gain an entry-level understanding of the national electrical power generation, transmission and distribution system
  • Further, a basic grasp of the equipment used in AIS and GIS high voltage substations should be demonstrated by the end of the first rotation
  • Also, the student will be expected to provide support to senior level engineers as directed, use the internet for technical research when needed, and develop / modify documents and drawings produced by the HVS unit
  • - Skills To Acquire The student should be proficient in the MS office suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access among others
  • The Student should demonstrate the ability to modify drawings in Auto CAD
  • In addition, the basics of substation design, including main circuit equipment uses and ratings, bus design selection and bus connector selection should be demonstrated
