The Department of Biobehavioral Nursing & Health Systems , a division of the School of Nursing, currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Software Engineer   This individual will be responsible for the architecture, development, and implementation of clinical and public health information systems supporting the Clinical Informatics Research Group (CIRG)
  • The Software Engineer ensures development and production computing resources are available for a variety of projects in clinical and public health informatics, involving secure web applications and data integration
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •     Design, document, analyze, develop, and test software projects •     Evaluate, select, acquire, customize, and integrate open source software to create complex systems in support of CIRG research activities, including data integration & web architectures •     Integrate data into CIRG projects using appropriate scripting and data transfer software such as web & cloud services, PHP, Perl, cURL, Pentaho, etc •     Under the guidance of the lead Software Engineer and Project Manager, monitor system and server issues for projects being utilized in a service capacity, including disk utilization, downtimes, security, and performance •     Help develop implementation strategies and backup processes for new installations of software projects •     Work with other members of the development team, training team, and support team to document CIRG software projects for various uses, e
